Analogous Color Abstract

I think I mentioned earlier that the freshmen have been working on color theory this semester.....wtih acrylic paint. So, we researched abstract artwork, well really, they researched abstract artwork. We discussed what is fits in this category as "abstract". The students needed to research abstract art and find 5 different artists that create abstract art and print one example from each artist. Then they needed to choose one style they liked and replicated that style as they created an abstract composition and paint it using only analogous colors (three next to each other on the color wheel).
