Seniors, today I would like your reflection journal to be just a couple sentences. You can post your reaction to the following information as a comment in this post. (Keep in mind the picture you reflected on yesterday.)
1 Month of Bills (Average) in Northern Michigan:
1. rent - $350
2. electric - $40
3. gas - $50
4. car (insurance/payment) -$60
5. car gas - $100
6. food - $100
7. phone (internet) - $45
8. TV (satellite) - $25
Life after graduation? $770 a month minimum out of your pocket.........
9. Clothing - ??
10. Movies - ??
11. junk food - ??
12. Netflix - ??
i found that budget to be very small. really REALLY small!
ReplyDeleteIt's crazy to think that in just a couple months I will be having to move out on my own, or even with roomates. I'm already paying for a lot just as a senior, but the rest is just overwhelming.
ReplyDeleteIts crazy to think that you can spend that much money. A lot of people dont think about this until all the bills come.
ReplyDeleteExcept I do not think my bills will be that high. I am planning on living happily the bare minimum.
ReplyDeleteI found this very interesting. it seems like it should cost more
ReplyDeleteIts crazy to think in just a few months we will have these responsibilities as we graduate high school. It's kind of scary to think about what will happen after graduation and what the future will hold
ReplyDeletethat's kind of a lot, but I think I can do pretty well for myself. I'm not too worried about living conditions during college.
ReplyDelete$770 is a little expensive for a monthly budget, but mine would be a little more expensive because i would eat more than a 100 dollars worth of food every month.
ReplyDeleteThats not too much money. It seems kinda small. Especially the food. I eat more than $100 a month!
ReplyDeleteThatis alot of money after you graduate college because you might not be guarenteed a job after college. it is life you have to pay it and get a job if you want a house and car.
ReplyDeleteI thought of the picture that us students wrote about yesterday. No one really thought about the after math of graduation. Just because we're done with high school doesn't mean we're done with everyday life.
ReplyDeleteit makes worry about life after high school
ReplyDeleteAfter graduation $770 is the average amount you need to sustain yourself. My dad doesn't even get that in a weekly paycheck. These prices are ridiculous. It might be not bad of a bill out of your pocket if you have a steady check but to someone like me that's not pocket change....
ReplyDeleteAfter graduation I am very excited to start life and continue on with life. I already have a plan for what I want to do with life, but right now the people that are going to be with me I am not sure.
ReplyDeleteI feel as tho the information given is misleading. In most cases its a higher cost of living.
ReplyDeleteI was just reminded that i wasnt here this day so i'll comment now. This budget looks to be on the low side but im ready for school to be done. Whatever my budget is after school im ready for it, no matter how high or how low it is.
ReplyDeleteI think this budget is crazy. I think it is crazy that you would have to pay that much to stay and live on your own. this is crazy that these prices are low baling.
