6th Grade Rene Margritte Style Self Portraits

Ugh, I can't remember where I got this art project from. I know I saw it on an Art Teacher's blog, but can't find it again. I introduced my students to Rene Margritte's work. Next, I told them they need to create a self portrait in a similar style to Margritte's. In the center of the face they needed to come up with an icon that could represent themselves. They used markers for this project.

  2. Crazy!!! I am sorry I couldn't remember where I saw it! Thank you for posting, I am surprised anyone was reading my blog, lol. I will update my post with a link to your site. And thank you (on the students' going a great job). We used markers, which I don't always like, BUT I try to use a variety of mediums with each class. I am going to try paint next time.
