Im just curious as to why you keep giving us prompts about mean words and bullying? Do you see us as a mean class? I think that everyone knows that words can hurt yet we all still do it. Nothings going to change. Yes I have said mean hurtful things before but I only say them if I think that its necessary. And yes I also do say nice things. Just over the bullying prompts. I get accused of it all the time and im sick of seeing it.
I don't see you as a "mean class". I was heartbroken with yesterday's posts, thinking you are seniors and so many of you don't care how your words can effect other people or don't think you have any responsibility in the outcome. So many made comment to being honest and getting out their what they think is the truth without taking any responsibility for what it can do to others, or caring what it can do to others. Not everyone, but if you go back and read them, you will see many posts like this. I was bothered and thought I needed to follow up with another post on the power of words. I was posting today more on the power of words used by people who create wars or peace. I wanted to post how adults use words to control situations intentionally. As I read the posts today, many still have feeling about bullying, not the intention of the post, however, it must still be on many of your minds.
You have two choices, you can either use your words to help people or put people down. whatever you choose to do is your choice! Whatever you choose is going to affect how people see you so choose wisely!!
This is a touchy subject. I'm not saying people don't say hurtful things, but sometimes when one person states their opinion, someone else gets offended. but sometimes people get offended because it's something they don't want to hear, or perhaps they're too sensitive of a person. but it's a for sure thing that sometimes people should refrain themselves from saying certain things.
I agree. I don't like to use the term "too sensitive", this may be because I have been called too sensitive before. I have strong opinions/emotions on many topics. I like to think of it as passionate about many topics. However, I still think as I use words, I need to still take responsibility for what I put out there.
You can hurt someone or help someone depending on how you use your words. You can actually care about how you make people feel, or you can be careless. It's up to you. Choose wisely.
Words do hurt but i what you choose to say can make or break a persons life and can scare people or make them cry or they can make them laugh so use positive words
I honestly dont know how to respond to this prompt. Words can affect others just as they can affect yourself. If you say negative things then more than likely youre gonna bring someone down with what you say. But if you say positive things then you'll probably affect someone positivly.
This prompt makes sense. Words can do a lot of things depending on the way you use them. If you use them in a bad way, it will have a bad effect on you, or others.
It's plain and simple that words can be helpful, yet at the same time that it can be the most harmful. thoughts and opinons about a person, place, or event can easily affect someone or offended by the way you think about these three things. choose your words carefully
Your words reflect the kind of person you are on to others. They reveal your personality and your view on the world. It is how you are seen. How you are heard and noticed. How you back up your beliefs and theories.
Words are very dangerous and i know how much they can hurt. My mom always said think before you speak and i think that a lot more people should follow this. They spit out hurtful words like a venom to your feelings and don't care and don't realize. Speaking of realization, there is a lot of bullying still in this school. Bullying that lies under the radar even to those WHO ARE STILL bullying. Its the looks, comments and snide little remarks that still make this school a growing ground for bullies. What can i say? I watch from the inside out of things. The one who observes silently and sees all. I use to blend in for a reason and its not because i had to, i was just smart to watch all the bullies at there best and when they tried there best on me, i knew exactly how to fight back. And now here i am, reversing their words to strengthen myself and using my words to brighten other peoples days. And to be honest i have always wanted to say this for everyone to see. To anyone who has EVER put me down. Thank you, you made me a better person. I learned from your mistakes.... :)
In the past, sure, my parents told me not to say certain things and that other things were okay to say out loud. But as the years progress, we hear others speaking those words that we were told were wrong to say to others. We would think about it. Maybe these words aren't so bad, Maybe these words could "help" us? Who knows? Then we say them and we like how we sound. These words can be hurtful, we can change how people view us. Their opinion of you, believe it or not, does matter in the future. Think before we speak. No one is perfect, I've fallen victim of this as well. Twisting words and knowledge to my advantage. Rise above!

ReplyDeleteI really don't have any other feelings towards this. It is like yesterdays post.
ReplyDeleteyet, it is still different, and it's an assignment.

Deleteyes. words are a tricky topic. use them carefully.
ReplyDeleteI expected more from you on this.
Deletewhy do we keep having bullying posts? its lame. i use my voice for my opinion, why is it my fault that other people dont use there voice
ReplyDeleteI did not intend to post on bullying. Like I said, I was trying to post on the power of words, as adults use words in the power of politics.

ReplyDeleteI think this quote is weird but true. I think this I a good quote thou. I think words heart people because people say stuff to heart people.
ReplyDeleteIf you are nice and say nice things to people it makes people feel good about themself. If you are rude to someone you put them down.
ReplyDeleteWords can mean a lot or words can mean nothing its how you take things in and how you can move on and build urself up from what people say.
ReplyDeleteExactly. Finally someone has the right idea
